CWC Action Fund 2024 Proposition Guide

What you need to know to vote in California’s Nov. 5 general election

Vote YES on Proposition 4

  • This Measure will authorize bonds for Safe Drinking Water, Wildfire Prevention, and Protecting Communities and Natural Lands from Climate Risks.

WHY THIS MATTERS

  • If this passes, there will be at least $600 million in new funding for safe water and wastewater solutions that our communities can access.

  • This funding is critical to keep progress on solutions for our communities moving.

Vote YES on Proposition 5

  • This measure will lower the threshold for a community to issue a bond for infrastructure from a ⅔ vote to a 55% vote.

WHY THIS MATTERS

  • Bonds are often how we fund new water and wastewater infrastructure in our communities.

  • Lowering the votes required to pass a new bond from 66% to 55% will make it more likely that we can continue to pass new bonds for infrastructure in the future and create less competition for state funds.
